Run Coach- Mona Landry
Our Team Challenge Run Coach for the fall season is Mona Landry. Mona is naturally drawn to the health and fitness field in all capacities. She is a graduate of ASHA, Academy of Somatic Healing Arts.
Her education in massage therapy and nutrition as well as her training as an ultra marathoner has ignited her continued interest in health and wellness. She is currently working towards her personal training certificate.
She has been a member of running groups and is a founding member of the Renegade Runners, a marathon training group. As a trainer, Mona has set running schedules for clients training for distances ranging from the 5K to the marathon. This is Mona's second season as run coach with Team Challenge and she looks forward to helping the runners reach thier half marathon goal.
Mona just finished her first 100 mile run in November! Whew!
Walk Coach-Jarid Neff
Jarid is a long time CCFA volunteer and has been involved in some sort of athletic endeavor at every stage of his life. From football, baseball, handball, racquetball, golf, hiking and biking.
Severe arthritis curtailed his activities and almost ended his love of sports and outdoor activities. Thanks to the miracles of modern medicine he has had both knees and both hips replaced within the last six years and is now in his best condition since high school.
Walking a minimum of 10 miles a week with his four dogs and working with a personal trainer for the last two years, Jarid is back in the game and ready to share what he has learned. Jarid has particpated in many races in the Atlanta area and looks forward to helping the walkers reach thier goals!
