Coaches

 We are tremendously fortunate to have very highly qualified coaches to assist the Michigan Team Challenge members prepare for the San Antonio Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon on November 16, 2008. Please consult with them about any training issues you may have during the training period, as they are there to help you to avoid injury and to develop the ability to participate in this endurance event, whether you are a novice walker or an experienced distance runner.

Tracy is the Director of Performance Enhancement at the Michigan Institute for Human Performance (MIHP) in Warren, Michigan. She is a graduate of the Macomb Community College physical therapist assistant program and a certified personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She develops and instructs circuit-training classes for the YMCA, presents Run Pain-Free clinics regularly in conjunction with Running Fit stores in Metro Detroit, and has been a featured speaker for the Crim Festival of Races in Flint, Michigan. Tracy has also presented the Functional Strength Training and Hard Core Training seminars to clinicians and trainers in the Midwest.

Tracy’s expertise in exercise prescription and biomechanics has helped hundreds of individuals reach their goals in athletic participation, including marathons, triathlons and cycling. She has dedicated her professional career to the treatment and prevention of orthopedic and sports-related injuries. Tracy, a seasoned distance runner herself, offers her expertise and enthusiasm to help Team Challenge members overcome their personal challenges as they reach for new levels of accomplishment.

Brad worked with Tracy as a Movement Training Specialist at the Michigan Institute for Human Performance (MIHP), then went on to provide personal training services to private clients at Coach Me Fit in Birmingham, Michigan. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Eastern Michigan University, where he played football from 2001-2005. He became a certified personal trainer through the American Council of Exercise. Brad enjoys participating in a wide variety of sports, and has developed a passion for running that he hopes to share with the team.
