Coaches

Coach David Conner
Coach Dave first became involved with Team Challenge as a participant for the Napa 2008 half marathon and has remained part of the TC family ever since. Because his wife is a Crohn’s patient, his passion for Team Challenge and running in general has grown exponentially over the past three years. Having a personal connection to these difficult diseases has made the Team Challenge experience a huge part of his life.
Coach Dave has participated in four half marathons with Team Challenge, including one as a coach, and also has run countless 5k’s, 10k’s, and various other races, including the first Tough Mudder in New England at Mount Snow this spring. In addition, he is an avid hockey player and CrossFitter, and believes that successful training for an endurance event involves not just running but whole-body strength training, proper stretching and recovery, and a healthy diet.

Coach Chris Mullins
Coach Chris joined Team Challenge as a participant in the 2009 Kona Half Marathon. After witnessing the impact Team Challenge had on so many lives, he was eager to continue his affiliation with the organization. He began coaching the following season for the 2009 Rock and Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon and continued through the 13.1 Boston, 2010 Rock and Roll Las Vegas, and 2011 Virginia Wine Country half marathons.
As someone who has been involved in many sports throughout his life from both a participant's and coach's perspective, he is a strong believer in the benefits of both an active lifestyle and the camaraderie that comes along with training in a team environment. Coach Chris is excited to welcome the next group of participants into the Team Challenge family.
