2010 Rock n' Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon Coaching Staff

Coach Marcie Adame

Marcie Adame

Coach Marcie Adame is a PE teacher who lives and works in Garland. She has been running for about 5 years. After walking/running on a treadmill for years trying to get in shape, she realized that she was covering almost 3 miles in 30 minutes! She was a few pounds to her goal weight when she decided to enter her first 5k (3.1 miles) race. Registering for the race helped strengthen her commitment to reaching her goal and she did it! Once that goal was reached, she wanted to maintain the weight that she had worked so hard to attain and made a commitment to participate in 10 walking/running events within the year.

16 weeks later, the White Rock Marathon Relay was her final race of the year. As she waited for her relay team to finish, she was inspired by the tears and smiles of the finishers of the half marathon. She knew that she wanted to share that experience and make the event really memorable. At that point, she decided to run FOR a cause and joined her first charity.

Since that race, she has run multiple 5 and 10ks, including Race for the Cure, numerous half marathons, 3 full marathons, led pace teams for the Dallas White Rock Marathon, Fort Worth Cowtown, and Rock to Victory half marathons. She’s trained beginners for their first 5ks, half marathons and full marathon victories. She’s organized destination running events, camping trips and rock climbing expeditions. She’s also a yoga teacher and practioner and an active member of the Dallas Running Club and Race Nation.

Coach Marcie is thrilled to be a part of this challenge and looks forward to helping you incorporate activity into your lifestyle.

Assistant Coach Andrew Pearson 2

Andrew Pearson

Coach Andrew Pearson was born in Indiana then moved to Cincinnati to further his education in Audio/Video/Film Production. From there he moved to Dallas in 2007 and since been working at Children's Medical Center in the Audio/Video Production Department.

Andrew was diagnosed with Crohn’s/Colitis when he was 14 and was in and out of the hospital until he was 19. His final surgery consisted of the removal of his Colon. Throughout his 20’s he learned and adjusted to the changes in his body. When he turned 30 he realized that he wanted to make a difference and help fight this horrible disease.

He joined Team Challenge in December 2009 to train and help raise money to fight back. He enjoyed the experience so much that he wanted to stay part of the team and inspire others, so he then joined our coaching staff and has been with us ever since. Andrew is a natural rockstar when it comes to running and training. He has successfully completed numerous half marathons and two full marathons. Coach Andrew has trained begginer athletes to those training for a personal record at events. His strength is motivating teammates and coordinating unique events that encorporate our training program!

He's really looking forward to meeting everyone and helping you achieve your goals!
