Coaches

You will have an experienced coach, both Run and Walk, to guide you through your training and help you get to the finish line! Our program is specifically designed for all abilities – from couch potato to experienced marathoner.

Your coach will assess your fitness level, lead practices every Saturday as well as fun "runs" on weekday evenings.  They will build the training based on your past endurance experience. They will also hold clinics on topics like proper shoes and equipment, nutrition, injury prevention, cross training, pacing, fuel/hydration, and race day preparation that include a variety of professional guest speakers from around the metro area.

Our Walk Coach Andi Whaley and Run Coach Tim Woods
have extensive backgrounds in endurance training and coaching, and are passionate about helping you reach your personal goals and fulfill our mission!

MEET YOUR COACHES

 Walk Coach
Andi Whaley

Coach Andi grew up in Southern New Jersey as a choir singer and arts and crafts enthusiast.
In her twenties, she discovered sports and has been a runner, martial artist and sometimes whitewater rafter ever since.
Andi has walked, skipped and danced through several 5Ks with a bunch of little girls, marathoned a couple of times, coached a bunch of really great walkers, runners and run/walkers through countless training runs and races, and enjoyed punching and kicking for a living when she taught fitness kickboxing classes.
Always looking for a new adventure, she moved to Denver in 2010 to train in the mountains and enjoy the Colorado sunshine!

Run Coach
Tim Woods

This is Coach Tim’s third straight season with Team Challenge, having coached the 2011 Napa-to-Sonoma and 2010 Vegas crews. He has thoroughly enjoyed his experiences with the team and cannot wait to return to the Strip this December!
As a coach he likes to have fun, but also seeks to create an environment where you can push yourself to new levels. The half marathon is his favorite distance as it provides a challenge that requires commitment, but is also attainable by anyone with the desire.

Coach Tim is primarily a runner, having participated in running races of all distances, from the 5k to nearly a dozen half marathons. But he also has a triathlon addiction that cannot be explained. As a member and officer of the Rocky Mountain Triathlon Club, he has finished over 20 races, from sprints to the Ironman.
In his spare time, he enjoys volleyball in the summer and skiing in the winter.
