I started running in 1996 with a non-profit team and 6 months later completed my first marathon in Honolulu raising over $3,400 for a national charity. I have since completed 6 marathons including 3 with a non-profit fundraising team similar to Team Challenge. In addition to training and fundraising for a charity for 3 marathons, I have also mentored a running group and helped them raise funds and train for the San Diego Marathon. I have been a triathlete since 1997, completing races from sprint distance to half ironman. During both my marathon and triathlon racing, I worked with coaches who helped me formulate goals, develop training programs and keep me on track to reach my goals. I understand the importance of a good coach to an endurance athlete. I am currently a physical therapist with Mercy Hospital Outpatient Clinic in Anderson, and work with runners and walkers to help improve biomechanics to prevent and/or rehabilitate from injuries. I am excited at the opportunity to coach Team Challenge and I believe my running experience, fund raising experience and physical therapy experience will help empower you to achieve both your physical and fundraising goals.
